Our History
Michael McFarland founded this company in 1997. Originally named Air Pro LLC, Michael had a passion for the chimney industry. Steve Trumble began working for Air Pro in 2004. Then, in 2010, after the unexpected passing of Michael McFarland, Steve purchased the company. Steve began doing business as Chimney Doctors, and since that day, he strives to grow the company into a well-respected and people oriented company.
The vision for Chimney Doctors is to become the leading chimney, hearth, and educational service provider in North America. Our goal is to provide quality, transparent service, up to date educational resources, and peace of mind to homeowners, contractors, and the real estate industry.

Steve's passion for chimney work began when he started sweeping chimneys in 2006. This rekindled his passion in masonry that had started at one of his earliest jobs as a Mason Tender over 20 years ago. Steve is the 61st Certified Master Sweep in the country and is very proud to be the most highly certified chimney professional in the state of Minnesota. He recently started a second company, Sota Metal Fabrication LLC. Which allows him to provide the highest quality chimney and fireplace products to our customers faster and at a much better cost. When Steve is not working alongside the members of our team, he spends his weekends at his family cabin enjoying his free time with his wife and five kids or with his five siblings whom he considers his best friends.
LindSAy MAE
Office Assistant
Having worked in the industry for over a decade, Lindsay is well known as the company’s and customers’ “go-to” person for all chimney needs. You can find her assisting customers on the phone with any questions or needs they may have.
She also donates her time as the executive director of the non-profit organization Sweep Away Cancer helping to plan events and coordinate organization operation. Back at home, Lindsay winds down from being a mom of four by reading or tending to her growing house plant collection. Her passion for travel and scuba diving draws her away from work, since she’s promised no land will be left uncharted.
Terri
CFO/Controller
Terri is the definition of productivity. What began as a sister offering a piece of advice based on her experience as a licensed CPA snowballed quickly into her becoming Chimney Doctors’ Operations Manager. Just like the lead character from her favorite musical, Hamilton, Terri is non-stop. Aside from dedicating many hours to growing and improving the company, Terri home schools her children, travels to places like Honduras with her husband, as well as takes on the demands of making maple syrup every spring.

Tom is often seen rebuilding chimneys and perfectly servicing your fireplace. Having earned his CSIA certification as well as his NFI Wood Certification, there is no question why he is our trusted general manager. His skills extend beyond chimneys to a multitude of things such as sailing with his wife and their blue tick coonhound, to utilizing his Viennoiserie Certificate to bake up some treats.
DAVE
VP of Sales & Marketing
Dave has been involved with the company from the beginning. Better known as Steve’s Dad. Born in Shakopee but grew up in western Wisconsin. Spent a short time in Montana and Idaho and then settled down in Minnesota for the last 30 years.
When Dave is not at work, he spends his time with family and his 8 small city gardens and lots of hanging flower baskets. Loves time at the cabin. His blended family consists of 9 children, 30 grandchildren and a wife of 20 years that loves children, at least she says she does. LOL My personal goal is to live long enough to have at least 30 Great Grandchildren. My business goal is to spread the word about my son’s companies to everyone that will listen!

A dynamic individual with a deep passion for both nature and craftsmanship. Brittany shares her home with her beloved companions - Benson, the Eeyore-like dog, and Billie, the kitty, who add warmth and joy to her daily life.
When she's not showering her pets with love, Brittany can be found engaging in a variety of hobbies. She enjoys the competitive spirit of bowling and volleyball, finding both relaxation and stimulation in the sports she loves.
She is also a dedicated plant enthusiast, spending hours caring for her houseplants to create a serene and thriving indoor oasis. Her green thumb and nurturing touch bring life and vibrancy to her living space, as well as her office space.
Professionally, Brittany brings a unique blend of hands-on experience and expertise to the table. With four years of masonry chimney knowledge under her belt, she has perfected the art of precision and care in ensuring the safety and functionality of chimneys. In addition, her four years in the hearth industry have given her a deep understanding of fireplaces and a commitment to exceptional service

Born in Burnsville, Aleah is a creative soul living with her boyfriend and a lively fur-family including her two cats, Chester and Cuddles, as well as three dogs: Theodosia, Maugrim, and Hershey. She is passionate about video gaming, drawing, painting, and reading. Although she has no kids, she's incredibly proud of her novel-in-progress and dreams of becoming a published author one day. In her spare time, she enjoys collecting rocks and gems and gaming with her friends.

Customer Service Representative
Enjoys basketball with her family, whether playing or watching, and has recently started appreciating the outdoors at their new home. On non-workdays, she is busy running around with her kids or cleaning the house. She lives with her husband and their four children. Lyndsey is proud of making core memories with her kids, coaching them, teaching them essential lessons, and being both a friend and a mom.
